SPECIALIST tyre accessory company MotorEyes has released two digital tyre pressure gauges onto the market, both priced cheaply enough to keep in the glovebox.

The first is the Digital Hornet, a small unit with single-button operation and digital display that auto-clears between readings.

Claimed to be accurate to within plus or minus two per cent, it measures pressure up to 160 psi (1100 bar) and has a multi-scale option allowing pressures to be read in pounds per square inch and kilopascals, bar or kilograms per square centimetre.

The bigger Digital Pro is aimed more at car enthusiasts. Beefier, it features a dual-directional J-shaped valve with extension hose and big, backlit liquid crystal display readout, the same multi-scale pressure readout and maximum pressure reading as the Hornet as well as the same accuracy rating.

What sets the Pro apart is its bleed button with continual real-time pressure mode, four programmable memory pressure settings, correct and over-pressure alert modes, auto-clear or memorise functions and auto-off.

As well, the Pro is powered by a single replaceable battery and comes with a two-year warranty rather than the Hornet's one year.

The Hornet costs $14.95 and the Pro $29.95. Both can be ordered at www.motoractive.com.au.
